At Afrobility Family CIC, we believe that every family's SEND journey is unique and every voice deserves to be heard.
Our SEND Journey is an upcoming storytelling project that will share the real-life experiences of African and Caribbean families raising children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Through honest conversations, we hope to celebrate resilience, raise awareness, reduce stigma, and create a greater understanding of the joys and challenges that families experience every day.
To help parents realise they are not alone
To amplify the voices of families whose experiences are often overlooked
To educate our wider community about SEND
To identify the support families need most
To use lived experiences to shape future Afrobility programmes and strengthen funding opportunities that benefit our community
Over the coming months, we will begin sharing inspiring stories from parents and carers who have generously agreed to tell their SEND journey.
Some stories will celebrate milestones and achievements.
Others will share challenges, lessons learned, and the hope they have found along the way.
Every story will help another family feel seen, understood, and supported.
