Our Impact

Building a Stronger Community, One Family at a Time

Although Afrobility Family CIC is a newly established organisation, we are already making meaningful connections within our community. Every conversation, event, partnership and family supported represents another step towards our vision of ensuring that African and Caribbean families raising children with SEND feel seen, heard and supported.

We believe that lasting impact begins with listening, building trust and creating safe spaces where families can connect, learn and thrive together.

Our Journey So Far

Afrobility Family community launch event in Bedford
01

Successful Community Launch

We proudly launched Afrobility Family CIC with our first SEND Parent Support & Community Meet-Up in Bedford.

The event brought together parents, carers, volunteers and community members in a welcoming environment where families could share experiences, build relationships and access information and support.

Supporting Parents Through Connection

Our parent support sessions provide opportunities for families to:

  • Connect with others on a similar journey
  • Share experiences in a safe and non-judgemental environment
  • Access information, advice and local resources
  • Build lasting friendships and support networks

Growing Volunteer Network

Our work has been strengthened by dedicated volunteers who have generously given their time and skills to help create welcoming and meaningful experiences for families.

We remain committed to growing a passionate team of volunteers who share our vision.

04

Building Community Partnerships

We are actively developing relationships with local organisations, professionals, community groups and stakeholders who share our commitment to improving outcomes for families raising children with SEND.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

05

Growing Our Parent Community

Our WhatsApp community continues to grow as more parents join us to:

  • Receive useful information
  • Learn about local opportunities
  • Share experiences
  • Encourage one another
  • Stay connected between events

Together, we are building more than a support group — we are building a community.
